CU Records

CU Records is a MUSIC CLUB and MEDIA OUTLET at Columbia University.

We run the only on-campus RECORDING STUDIO, free for use by all Columbia students. As a studio, we train students to become AUDIO ENGINEERS and match ARTISTS with PEOPLE who can record them. The CU Records STUDIO is located on the fifth floor of Lerner Hall.

Our goal is to foster the CAMPUS MUSIC SCENE by serving artists that do not possess the resources to record or showcase their own music.

Programming

CU Records does not run its own programming, but records the work of other students.

If you would like to visit the studio, the door is open for you during our social/leadership meetings on Wednesdays as well as the MIC Songwriter Circle on Mondays.

If you would like to get your music recorded, send a message in the #recording-other channel of the CU Records Discord.

If you would like to become a member of CU Records, you will need to complete our training program. his involves attending two training sessions and an interview with our faculty sponsor. Training sessions take place most Tuesdays and Thursdays. These are announced in our Discord channel and our newsletter, with a public event added to the calendar.
